Susan Bross has over 20 years of experience working with bold and visionary non-profit organizations. Her experience includes launching and leading young organizations and teams, developing and executing effective fundraising campaigns and strategies, cultivating and soliciting major and principal gifts, building and managing boards, and nurturing collaborative partnerships.
Susan most recently served as Director of Philanthropy for St. Elizabeth’s School, an independent K-8 school with a mission to increase access and remove barriers to educational equity. She was responsible for all fundraising strategy and execution. During her tenure, she raised over $15M including the successful launch of an endowment fund and the completion of the first phase of a capital campaign.
Susan also helped launch the Colorado regional office of College Summit, a national non-profit organization focused on increasing college access for first generation students. She served as Director of Development and then as Executive Director for 9 years. During her time with College Summit, Susan built and led a thriving team, recruited a high-profile regional board, gathered a committed community of donors and developed strategic partnerships serving over 6000 students.
Susan began her career as a founding team member of New Profit Inc., one of the first venture philanthropy firms created in the late 90’s. She worked closely with the Founder to cultivate and solicit principal gifts, design fundraising events, build the board, and support social entrepreneurs. Throughout her career, Susan has drawn on her experiences in non-profit leadership and fundraising to work in a consulting role with various organizations. She is passionate about organizations that remove barriers, increase access to opportunities and value diverse perspectives, while having fun and nurturing a healthy culture.
Susan has a BA from Baylor University, where she met her husband, Lance. They have three teen-age/young adult daughters who give them a lot of hope for the future!
