Catherine Carabetta brings a unique perspective to the social impact sector, having served as both a grantmaker and development professional. Most recently, Catherine was Director of Philanthropy at Fort Collins (CO) Museum of Discovery. There, as a member of the senior leadership team, she oversaw a diverse philanthropic strategy that included foundation, corporate, government and individual support. Previously, Catherine was a Senior Program Officer at the Prince Charitable Trusts in Chicago, where she directed the foundation’s social services grantmaking program, focusing on early childhood education and ending homelessness. She served as Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Donors Forum, an Illinois association of grantmakers, nonprofits and philanthropic advisers. There she led the organization’s public policy program, including a statewide initiative to establish and promote the Illinois Nonprofit Principles and Best Practices. Catherine’s work experience includes positions at the Pew Charitable Trusts, the Brookings Institution and the United States Senate. Catherine holds a BSFS from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and an MA in Government and Politics from Loyola University Chicago. Based in Fort Collins with her family, she enjoys cooking, running, biking and movie nights at home.
