WHAT ARE YOU BINGE-STREAMING RIGHT NOW?

Reservation Dogs! You have to watch it for so many reasons. In an interview with Cree and Metis film-maker Danis Goulet: Reservation Dogs has created this shining, incredible, impactful and profound example of what Indigenous-led projects can be. It’s set a new bar for that.” Sterlin Harjo, co-creator of the show, did an interview with Terry Gross in the Fall 2023 and highlights the magic in storytelling as it relates to life and this show.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH PE?

I’m PE’s boomerang. I started consulting with PE in 2012 and then I went on to work for a nonprofit executing a capital campaign. I came back to PE for Round 2 in 2015. I then took an ED role for a few years and fast forward to 2020. Poof. Life happened. Our daughter was born, my father died, and I lost my job due to the pandemic (does anyone remember the pandemic??). I knew it was time for me to recalibrate and prioritize what was important to me: serving my community and consulting with incredible nonprofits impacting others. Third time’s a charm. I love consulting for PE.

WHAT PROJECT OR ACHIEVEMENT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF IN YOUR ROLE HERE?

How’s this mom response? I am proud of all of them – they are all my favorites! I have loved working with CrossPurpose over the years as they navigate significant expansion in four locations across Metro Denver. Watching The Bridge open their facility and offer comprehensive services to the community has been humbling. Healing Advocacy Fund is diligently working to expand health modalities to those suffering from anxiety and depression within the state. The STEAD School (STEAD) is a next generation science-based, agriculturally-focused, and student-led high school that prepares students as stewards of our food, energy, and natural resources to sustain our planet and its inhabitants. Neighbor to Neighbor is so close to hitting their fundraising goal for their current capital campaign. Colorado Village Collaborative exists to bridge the gap between the streets and stable housing by creating and operating transformational housing communities in partnership with people experiencing homelessness. Fraser Valley Arts is doing incredible work and making a tremendous community space. Happy Dog Ranch is at the cusp of expansion as they have a beautiful new facility. (Cue the music to cut me off here :))
