Get to know Director of Events & Strategic Impact Sarah Bee

Interviewed by Sarah Bee

PE: Hi Sarah Bee, thank you for finally sitting down with us.

SB: Sure thing, Sarah Bee, it’s an honor to be here.

PE: So fill us in, how did you come to join PE?

SB: That’s an excellent question, SB.

PE: Yes, I thought so too.

SB: I came to PE after 7 years working at a law firm that specialized in cannabis policy. My favorite tasks at the firm involved collaborating with our community partners to produce events, so I wanted to find a role doing events full time. I was griping about my job hunt over brunch with my dear friends Nicole and Sandra Elkind, and Sandra said she thought I’d be a good fit at PE. She introduced me to her high school bestie Melanie Ulle, and the rest, as they say, is history.

PE: Sounds like kismet. We know you spend your days making your client’s dreams come true…

SB: Oh, well, I’m flattered.

PE: …When you’re not busting your buns on events, how do you enjoy yourself?

SB: I spend a lot of time reading mysteries and thrillers. When I venture out of the house, it’s most often for a comedy show, or drag-related event. I recently enjoyed a drag brunch sing-along with my friends from Rose Andom Center, and watched Ru Paul’s Drag Race with staff from GALS Denver. Drag is an act of protest and the ultimate art form. DRAG IS NOT A CRIME!

PE: Aren’t you miss popular. Final question: what are you most proud of in your time here?

SB: I’ve forged some very special relationships with the nonprofits I partner with and love seeing capable women crushing it in their careers. I’m grateful to collaborate with fellow boss babes on their events, share in their success, and call them friends at the end of it. Of course, I value the men I work with as well, but I LOVE to see a woman thrive.

PE: Thanks for your time, SB. Getting to know you was an absolute pleasure.

SB:  Thank YOU! Oh, one more thing, do you validate?
